  19.       This file includes instructions on how to start using FLIX,
  20.       and the product shipping file list.

  24.     Quick start
  25.  
  26.  
  27.          For those in a hurry to get started, follow these 5 easy steps:
  28.  
  29.            1.  Set the environment variable: FLIX. (Recommended)
  30.  
  31.                  SET FLIX="where flix exists directory"
  32.  
  33.                    (e.g),
  34.  
  35.                  SET FLIX=C:\FLIX\
  36.  
  37.            2.  If you have EMS or XMS memory in your computer, enable it by
  38.                putting the appropriate driver in your CONFIG.SYS. (Recommended)
  39.  
  40.            3.  If your video card is capable of displaying text at 43x132 or
  41.                60x100, set it to that mode. (Recommended)
  42.  
  43.            4.  If you have a color system, change (in the FLIX.PRO file)
  44.                the ATTR command to show the screen in color ( line 125 ).
  45.                Do this by removing the asterisk in front of the first
  46.                ATTR command. Now, comment out the second ATTR command
  47.                by inserting an asterisk in front of it. (Optional)
  48.  
  49.            5.  Invoke the program by entering:
  50.  
  51.                  FLIX
  52.  
  53.            You are ready to go ! Help is Alt-H, Quit is F3.
  54.  
  55.            To move to a sub-directory hit Ctrl-F1. The files: '.' and '..'
  56.            move you to the current dir (again) and previous dir, respectively.
  57.  
  58.            To toggle between 4DOS file descriptions, and file stats hit Alt-W.

  65.          If you've  used a previous version of FLIX, read the CHANGES.DOC
  66.          file. This will familiarize you with any updated features and
  67.          known bugs.

  69.          New users should read FLIX.DOC file. This file will give you
  70.          complete instructions on how to start using FLIX

  72.          This program does NOT require 4DOS in order to function.
